I am the Director of Philanthropic Engagement at Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. My job is to lead our efforts in major gift fundraising.
I received a Ph.D. in constructive theology from Loyola University Chicago in December of 2012.

As a fundraiser, I am responsible for partnering with organizational leadership to implement fundraising strategies for donors who can make leadership-level gifts. During the seven years I have worked as a full-time frontline fundraiser, I have consistently exceeded the goals set for me by leadership, and I have led my teams in proposals closed, dollars raised, and donor visits. I find fundraising incredibly fulfilling, as it allows me to meet and work with fascinating people, while generating important resources for those who need them. I would love to work with you!
As a scholar, my work has occurred at the intersection of theology and contemporary philosophy, primarily hermeneutical and continental philosophies. My goal is to work alongside others in constructing a critical and liberative uptake of the Christian tradition. I believe that the language, symbols, and terminology of religion are still able to capture the imagination of our postmodern society, but I believe theologians could do a better job of using that potential for the global common good. Because religion, including Christianity, is often at fault for perpetuating global injustice, the most productive contemporary theologies are those that can redeem what is life-giving about Christianity without allowing our desire for the familiar to perpetuate injustice. Doing that is no easy task.
